By Nancy E. Schwartz When you hire a marketing firm or consultant, you're making a significant investment (in time and dollars) to advance your goal via marketing. There's no margin for error. It has to be done right – strategically and realistically – in a way that works with the culture of your organization. Here's how to make that happen: A) PREPARE INTERNALLY AND SOLICIT ON-TARGET PROPOSALS Make sure that your organization is clear on its goals before you speak to any outside resources. Issues to review include: What are you trying to achieve? In what time frame? What have you done to date toward that goal, via marketing or otherwise? Is this marketing planning project part of a broader organizational strategy or event (e.g., revision of focus, new leadership, or fundraising campaign)? If so, include details in the RFP.What do you think (in terms of marketing) can be done to meet this goal? Specify the exact scope of work you want: Be clear about the services you require to ensure you get proposals that address your needs. Scope of work can include Plan: What's needed (e.g., new messages, new strategies), general timeframe, skills needed.Marketing Budget: Total budget broken out by focus (e.g. product y, service x, general organizational marketing) and type of expenditure (e.g., printing, web design, proofreading, and postage).Phased Workplan: A detailed timetable of what tasks must be implemented, by whom, and at what times throughout the year to ensure that marketing strategies are launched at the most appropriate moment.Implementation: Any or all of the following – writing (one or two drafts, one or two revisions), design, editing and proofing, project management (from finding additional resources to executing a direct mail campaign), web development and promotion, evaluation of results, and revision of plan accordingly. Clarify what you're looking for in terms of deliverables. Do you want just a plan, or are you looking for a plan, timetable, and budget for a specified numbers of years? Request a situation analysis (looking at what you've been doing, what's working, what's not, as well as engaging in some research with staff and constituencies) be integrated into the plan. Without this, you'll be working in a vacuum. Are you looking for the work to be implemented in a specific way? If so, clarify that. Other specs to include: What you'll do or provide for each element (e.g., you may have an in-house writer whom you'd like to write brochure and web copy).Timeframe and benchmarks along the way.Approval process.Your budget for planning and implementation phases.Point person within your organization. Write a comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFP), incorporating all of this information and a reasonable time-frame for receipt of proposals. Request referrals from consultant and firm referrals from colleague organizations. Distribute RFP. B) REVIEW PROPOSALS THROUGHLY AND CAREFULLY BEFORE SELECTION Review proposals carefully, looking beyond the price. Make sure you're comparing apples to apples. Do the proposals address all of the issues and specifications outlined in your RFP (written or verbal)? Good listening is critical to good consulting. This is a good test. Once you've selected one or two finalists, work with them to fine-tune their proposals as needed. This is the time to do it. Then, re-evaluate. Call references. Select a proposal that outlines a clear working process that will work within your organizational culture. Ensure that the process includes staff members and builds understanding among them, rather than just providing a plan in which staff aren't invested and/or able to execute or evaluate well, even with outside help. C) MOVING FORWARD Choose one staff member to serve as the primary point person. This is critical for project success. Build an advisory board of colleagues and others who will be involved in the project. The more the point person does to facilitate the work of this group, the better chance for on time, on budget project completion. Review the proposed working process with the advisory board. Work with the consultant or firm to revise as necessary. Make sure to clarify:• Frequency of status reports. • Benchmarks. • Schedule. Make sure all assumptions are clarified, from both sides, before signing a letter of agreement. Nancy E. Schwartz helps nonprofits succeed through effective marketing and communications. Secret of Affiliate Explode In Your Face
By Davis Have you been dealing with affiliate programs that wont accept your application because your site isnt perfect or that dont provide you with enough tools to wow your readers into buying? If youre looking for an affiliate program that takes it to the next level then youll be interested in reading on From: Davis Its your first time filling out an application for an affiliate program. You fill in your name, address, business, then WAIT! It wants to know what your website is like and says it will only accept a site that is top notch and already working. But you only have a domain name and a great idea that is going to make you serious money... that is IF you get accepted for the affiliate programs in your niche market. Has this happened to you? Hence TheSecondTier is not just an affiliate program but an affiliate training center. What other affiliate program would teach you: How to choose the right product for you to promote - One of the biggest mistakes that almost all affiliates make when they first start out, is that they try to promote too many things at once. How to protect your commissions from thieves while increasing your conversions - One of the number one concerns that affiliates have are people stealing their commissions. You will learn the techniques that will protect your links and also guarantee that even the worst thieves will gladly give you their commissions instead of keeping it for themselves. and a whole lot more.... The information provided will make beginners feel experienced and experienced feel like experts. You are given all of the tools and training (like training videos, audio advice straight from Russell and the affiliate managers blog) - all that is really needed is the desire to learn and try. For years affiliate marketing has been growing in popularity as a way to make a residual income. The ease of setting up a site once makes it very appealing for anyone from college students with no money to retirees looking to keep a constant flow of cash coming in. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of people who think about affiliate marketing take advantage of it because they dont know where to start and dont have money on hand to pay for a product that teaches them how. Thats why Russell made the decision when he created the Second Tier that anyone who wanted to be a great affiliate marketer would have everything they needed completely free. Plus, his affiliates have access to other unique incentives and tools like a two tier system that gives them a commission when someone they refer sells a product and rewards for top selling affiliates. Bitter Sweet
By Melissa Lok I wonder if theres a term for someone who is constantly happy, giving, and sweet all the time. Ive heard many classifications and terms such as desperate, total psycho, unhealthy, fake, and unhappy but never one that can be agreed upon. Maybe its just general misconception from the general public and the majority of us are just jealous and truly unhappy with our lives. But either way, we all know at least one person that fits into this category. You know the one person at your work, school, club, or friend of a friend who nobody hates because you cant really find anything to hate them for unless its for being too nice. Youve never seen them mad, angry, or even frustrated; its as if their not even human. But deep down you know that they are and that they probably have issues and obstacles just like any one of us, so you wonder how they keep it so hidden and look so polished. Whatever the reason is doesnt matter because in comparison to your life, they seem happier and have a better outlook than you do. I should know because Ive been on both sides of the fence. I have met people who are so happy that it seems so sweet it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. You eventually have to walk away since theres only a certain amount of happiness that you can take before you end up gagging on yourself to try and get rid of the taste. No matter how many times you try and get rid of it, its always there and takes forever to completely wash out. On the same token, I have found myself being so fake and hospitable to people that I had to stop myself in mid-conversation and walk away. I wanted to leave a good impression on the people I was working for that I lost sight of myself and what I was trying to accomplish. At the same time, I wanted to hide away my true feelings. I didnt want anyone to know that I was scared, breakable, and capable of failure. Maybe this overly happiness trait is just a defense mechanism others use to hide their true feelings. And the last thing Id want to do is point fingers at anyone or anything, but its always good to try and find the root of how this overly happy personality came to existence in the first place. I realize that you are accountable for your own actions and how you live your life. But you cant help and think about what other factors have created these so called perfect people, myself included. Working in customer service for almost a decade has contributed to the person I am today and is why I am so marketable as a person. I was always taught that the customer is right, even if theyre yelling at you so close that spit ends up landing on some part of your face or if they just feel like treating you like crap. You rights as a human being are taken away once you put on that uniform and you turn into a machine that performs the same repetitive functions every day. You soon forget to have your own ideas, thoughts, and opinions as you perfect yourself to the superstar employee you were meant to be. In conclusion, our society and environment definitely has an impact on shaping who we are as people and how we act individually and together as a working force, but it is also important to realize that society alone cannot give us our own identity. I was born in Oakland, CA. in January 25, 1979 where I spent most of my childhood enjoying life and not caring about the evils of the world. When I had turned 13, my family and I had moved to a small village in San Lorenzo, CA.-about half an hour away from Oakland where I learned that the world was harsh and life was not always fair. I spent a lot of time trying to find my identity and interact with those around me. I never seemed to fit in and seemed to be outcast from most groups. Since then I have graduated (Dec. 04) from UC Berkeley with a BS in Microbial Biology and a minor in English. Along with finding my identity ad continuing to grow, I have been trying to find my way and continue to search for what truly makes me happy. A Russian Bride: Why On Earth Would She Be Interested In YOU?
By Olga Lebekov Obviously, a Russian bride isnt going to leave behind their family, friends, and home country for no reason. To begin with, in Russia, there are approximately 10 million more women than men. The number of women in their 30s exceeds the number of men significantly. If a woman gets divorced, she has little to no chance of ever getting re-married in Russia. Also, the mortality rate of working male professionals here is extremely high. A Russian bride typically gets married between ages 23 and 25. If she is still unmarried by age 30, it looks extremely unusual. There is definitely pressure to get married. The economic condition in Russia isnt exactly outstanding the average income of a Russian bride is $100 a month. Believe it or not, both necessities such as food and commodities such as clothing and make-up still cost the same as they do in the western countries, though. Russian brides are exceptionally adaptable, and learn how to sew and cook most of their food at home but at the same time, being in better financial condition is appealing. Western men typically show women more respect than Russian men do. They seem to care and court more. Russian men are very traditional in their beliefs and expect their Russian brides to take care of the household duties (cook, clean, laundry, dishes, etc) as well as uphold a full time job. Russian men typically drink and smoke a lot more than Western men. This makes family life very hard for both the children and the Russian bride. Western men are usually more interested in family life than Russian men. They care more about their childrens upbringing, and invest more time and effort into it. They are also more apt to help their Russian brides with household chores. Olga Lebekov is a Russian woman who coaches men on how to have successful partnerships with Russian women. Custom Printing: How to Get the Photo Quality Results That Your Competitors Have
By Michael Joseph Your competitors' custom printing projects have it - their marketing materials are vibrant, photo quality works of art. Even your smaller competitors with smaller marketing budgets have it. Their presentation folders and brochures, even their business cards are photo-sharp. How can they afford the photo quality results they get? Do they have a better marketing team? Guess what - they probably just know things you don't. They know more about emerging photo quality commercial printing than you do. Can you get the same quality? Sure. But it comes from print vendors you might not expect and it doesn't have to cost more. In fact, if you find the right vendors, photo quality custom printing can cost less than traditional color printing. How do you find these vendors and keep costs in-line? Let's get up-to-speed on photo-quality printing. Then, I'll offer a few tips to get you started. What You Should Know Photo quality custom printing is easy to understand. Printing done with a resolution of 2400 dpi or better is high photo quality. True 2400 dpi printing is what's giving your competitor the edge. The competitor's brochures that you envy were not printed at 1200 dpi then enhanced with software to look like 2400 dpi printing. No way. Your competitor knows better. Here are five things that your competitors know:
True photo quality printing is reproduction of actual images
Not all digital printing is true photo quality
Very few print vendors have true photo quality
Lots of print vendors "fake" photo quality
Most photo quality commercial printing is done on a press not a copier
Photo Quality Printing Can Save Money So-called photo quality printing of the past was done on digital presses, copiers and printers. These devices often require special toners, papers and press materials. Special materials mean higher costs. Enter the new era of digital presses. They print on almost any substrate and they use commonly available inks. Waterless inks are used in some digital presses which results in better ink hold out. Using common materials lowers cost. Your competitor has found vendors with these new presses. Right now, your competitor gets better printing and pays less than you do. Here's what you can do. Find a Photo Quality Commercial Printing Partner Here are some quick tips for finding a photo quality commercial printer.
Search the Web for "2400 dpi printing companies" not "photo quality printing companies"
Learn about the presses
Ask the press manufacture for their customer list
Compare the difference of a hard copy proof versus a soft copy proof
Compare pricing does photo quality cost less or the same?
Talk to photo quality printing press manufacturers, and ask for a list of potential vendors
Use the list above and youll find true photo quality print vendors who print in true photo quality output. Get Free Samples from Vendors Once you do find a vendor, be sure to ask for samples. Do you see the difference in quality or more depth? If a vendor wont give you free samples, move on to the next vendor. And take the photo quality edge away from your competitors. The Journey Towards Tensegrity
By Dennis Bartram I have been practising physical therapies since 1969 when I became qualified in Swedish Remedial massage. In 1974 after adding the skills of Osteopathy, I opened a
clinic and began my career in physical medicine.
During the next ten years, I attended many seminars on Osteopathic and Chiropractic techniques. Some research was proving that the standard thrust manipulative techniques of Osteopathy were not necessary. This approach fascinated me, as it was a less forceful approach but also seemed kinder to the body. These less forceful approaches utilised body positioning and the tensity of the tissue to facilitate the correction. One of the most eminent researches studied and utilised Eastern methods of therapy and from their theories developed new physical techniques to match the criteria. Dr George Goodheart developed from Chinese Meridian Theory a series of muscle tests
that correlated with the diagnostic method of pulse diagnosis used in Acupuncture. Collected pages of Dr. G. Goodheart. Acupuncture and the knowledge of the meridian system are thousands of years old. Applied Kinesiology is one of the very
few systems that has added new information to the ancient knowledge. Walther, D.S.(preface) Applied Kinesiology. These muscle tests soon became a reliable and empirical backdrop to understanding the links between Eastern and Western methodology. With muscle tests, he demonstrated the effectiveness of a technique and a reliable form of diagnosis and post checking. Even the Swedish massage that I initially practised was developed by a Swedish doctor Peter Ling from a Chinese backdrop. This sparked for me an interest in Eastern methods of therapy and lifestyle. My other interest in the East had also begun in 1970 when I began studying Japanese Karate. After studying for fifteen years, I discovered many of the Japanese masters were also doctors of Japanese medicine. In 1985, I began my study of an ancient form of Japanese warrior principles. The Grandmaster of this school was a Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi and was the holder of ancient scrolls of nine schools of martial arts and a school of ancient medicine. His daytime occupation was a Seitai practitioner, which translates to a Japanese form of Osteopathy. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 2 of 10 I initially met with Dr Hatsumi when he came to England for the first time in 1986 to demonstrate his martial principles. Although his martial skills were frighteningly effective, another quality shone from him. He was friendly, gentle and his body movement was graceful. He seemed to have plenty of time to evade attacks made on him during demonstrations and seemed to float as he walked through various techniques.
I watched in awe of a man twenty years my senior, working with ease and with fingertip precision to lock his opponents in tangled body configurations. To learn that this man practised as an Osteopath totally intrigued me and made me ponder as to his methodology. As he practised martially, he would say Budo and Medicine are the same! and if medicine was practised poorly, it could kill. He told us to study nature and learn from nature and that natural movement was all that was required to maintain health. That day in 1986 changed me, I had found my mentor, a man who practised my hobby and my occupation and described them as being one. I changed from a hard physical disciplined Karate to a softer evasive body defence method. This also influenced my
decision to stop manipulating in the standard Osteopathic method and study Dr.Hatsumis naturalistic approach.
I utilised body positioning and gentle movement into my practise methodology. Slowly I began to get the results from this body orientation approach. In 1995, I went to visit Dr. Hatsumi to ask for guidance and the opportunity to demonstrate these principles to him. He was impressed with my progress and told me he would teach me on one to one basis. He painted a calligraphy for me, which translated as mysterious hands. He said that this described what he saw as he watched me practise. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 3 of 10 In a private session, Dr. Hatsumi worked on a friend of mine who had been a patient for several years. This person had suffered from Osteopetrosis a brittle bone disorder from birth. He had suffered many bone breaks and traumas but in his twenties had fractured his femur badly in his left leg. After many hours in surgery, they had to abandon a traction correction, as they could not drill through the brittle bone. This left him after many months in plaster with a bowed left leg. This resulted in a misaligned pelvis and a scoliosis of the spine. He had a pronounced limp and had to walk with the aid of a stick. Despite these and many other difficulties after treatment from me, he even began martial training. After several years of training, he visited Dr. Hatsumi with me. Dr. Hatsumi observed him walking, asked him to lie down and began to palpate his damaged leg. After a few moments, he decided on a spot and said This Place. He then pressed forcibly, quickly and deeply into the tissue of the leg. My friends pelvis and spine contorted and twisted as he pushed with his fingers into his leg. Then my friend stood up unaided and walked a few steps with a slight limp and more uprightly aligned. He had straightened up so much that his stick was now too short to reach the ground from where he held it. He could also step forward from both feet almost equally. I had now seen evidence of what I could only describe as a miracle. Dr. Hatsumi then pressed my leg in a similar spot so I could feel the depth and effort of the pressure. He explained that this feeling and the body motion that generates it was the most important thing to study. All of my teachers lessons were delivered in this oxymoronic manner. He would demonstrate a technique, which stretched your imagination and then let you ponder on the questions that would lead you there. On another occasion, he pressed into my cheek with his thumb for a moment and relived all my symptoms of fatigue and jet lag immediately. He explained that these effects on the body were possible because of a principle known as Gairon, which translators explained it as The Big Picture, private tutorials (1995) Dr. M. Hatsumi, the interconnectedness of all things, the feeling of nature. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 4 of 10 My research was to understand the relationship between the osteopathic lesion and the tissues that maintained the lesion.
Manipulation was based on either high velocity thrusts to a bone or forceful leverage principles. These techniques could be painful for the recipient and could also rupture the adjoining tissues. In 1995 I had the good fortune to observe first hand a Japanese master realign a pelvic and spinal distortion in moments without force or leverage. He actually applied pressure to the inner thigh with his thumb for about two to three seconds. On reexamination of the client all the physical factors of the problem had realigned. He said that this approach was possible because of a principle known in Japanese as Gairon. The relationship between the biosphere and Gaia is like that between your body and you. The biosphere is the three dimensional geographic region where living organisms exist. Gaia is the super organism composed of all life tightly coupled with the air, the oceans and the surface locks. Lovelock. J, GAIA New Look at life on Earth, preface PX1. The continuity or global interconnectedness of the living matrix is essential to the understanding of the body and the role of energetics in health and disease. Oschman. J, Energy Medicine (p232) The underpinning of my new research was based on the following principles. It had to be natural, it was a feeling that came from the heart and was delivered through the fingers, it was produced in the spine and delivered through our walk. Every time he taught a technique, he would explain these principles. Its all in your walk, you must find it in nature, it must come from your heart and if you dont understand Gairon, then you cant continue. The simplistic but mechanistic way in which he observed and then treated a condition was impressive but frustrating. My early attempts to mimic his technique were based on heavy pressure, which soon had
Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity my clients complaining. mmv Dennis Bartram Page 5 of 10 When I lightened up, I could not get the tissue to respond.
This frustration led me to study many approaches to pressing into tissue from Shiatsu, different kinds of massage, Rolfing and other physical modalities. Nothing had the
effect of Dr. Hatsumis touch on tissue.
The spirit and feeling of a technique are more important than the mechanical ways to achieve it. Hatsumi personal discussion, 1995. My main area of research in studying this mans natural movement principles and medicine were bipedal locomotion and our vertical competence against gravity. The
main reason for this was that Dr. Hatsumi explained that human beings are the only creatures that need to be taught to move naturally. Dr M. Hatsumi (1995) Thus the neurodevelopmental stages of crawling, creeping, crude walking and mature walking through which normal children develop, is directly related
to the amphibian, reptilian and mammalian evolutionary ancestors. Novella,MD (p1). As we move naturally, we move energy around our body and integrate the left and right hemispheres of the brain. My own personal experience of overcoming dyslexia was through a programme of cross crawl repatterning designed by two doctors called Doman and Delacato. They discovered that babies that do not crawl evolve from an early programming of homo-lateral movement to walking and skip the cross crawl development. This leads to a desynchronised brain pattern that can give rise to dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia.
Therefore, my search went further into walking patterns. The problem with research into bodily function is the reductionist approach, which disregards the overall co ordination or integration of the body. The reductionist approach assumes it is virtually impossible to study phenomena at the level of the whole organism simply because it is too complex. Oschman J., p48 (2000).Energy Medicine Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 6 of 10 Most of the data I could find on walking was the anatomical, Newtonian approach to movement. The whole idea of Hatsumis Gairon approach was to include everything and he explained it was everywhere in nature. The traditional Newtonian concept of causality excluded non-deterministic data, because the information did not fit into its paradigm. The accepted knowledge that muscles moved bones by contraction and that bones were the weight bearers of the body was not sufficient to demonstrate the co ordination of natural movement. In nature there is concept known as ephemeralisation, which means minimum effort and maximum output. When this is applied to a Newtonian approach of body movement, it does not apply.
The earliest form of movement evolved by the division of somites to become flexor muscles in the spines of fish. They simply contracted and at the end phase of contraction the opposing set of flexors would contract. This produced movement in the fish with minimal use of the brain and body with maximum diversity of its power. This was the kind of movement potential that Dr Hatsumi demonstrated in his almost floating walking style. Dr. Oshman PHD., in the seventies began to study the effects of pressure on the tissues of the body. He describes research into the level of the simple cellular matrix. We now know that the cell is filled with filaments and tubes and fibres and trabecullae collectively called the cytoplasmic matrix or cytoskeleton. Oshman, I. p45 (2000). This breakthrough in cellular makeup led to new information as to the evolvement and makeup of bodily tissues.
It also demonstrated the scientific basis for the interconnectedness and continuity of the parts of the living organism. This was a piece of the puzzle in my quest for Hatsumis Gairon principle. Tissues evolve according to the stresses imposed on them in their developmental stages. This is the basis of Wolffs law of trabecullae development in bones and tissue. The fish and its spinal movement described earlier were sufficient for the
compression forces of water to provide it with projectile movement with flexor muscles only on its spine. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 7 of 10 For a fish like organism to leave the watery environment, its first new stress was gravity, a compressive force. Now two flexor muscles are not enough to move through three-dimensional gravitational space. Therefore, the next development was
to have antagonistic extensor muscles to work with the flexors. This also adds the extra dimension to bring in rotation and side bending qualities in the spine. As creatures became more land capable, uprightness was a sought after quality. This caused the trabecullae formation in the cellular matrix to react. When collagen cells are close packed, they produce icosahedrons and the molecules of collagen when
stacked produce triple helix shapes. These threads of collagen weave into the fabric of tissue to develop lines of stress balancing strength against compressive or
compression forces. This ability at cell level is an inherent blueprint for organisms to balance against a stress and maintain its integrity. This tension balanced across
integrity became known as the concept of tensegrity. This concept was first developed by a man called Kenneth Snelson, born in Pendleton, Oregon in 1927. He said, My art is concerned with nature in its primary aspect, the patterns of physical forces in three dimensional space. He developed a
three-way weave structure consisting of rigid compression, tubes pushing outward, held together by flexible tension cables pulling inward. These polyhedral units could be stacked in a way reminiscent of a beehive structure. Their antagonistic reciprocal tension and compression gives them powerful structural integrity omni directionally in three-dimensional space. Robert Buckmister Fullers actually coined the term tensegrity and as a philosopher and engineer developed architectural design and developed a geodesic dome. Geodesics are based on the mathematics of special relationships. The dome is all or
part of a sphere, the shell of which is made of rigid struts forming equilateral triangles. The tensegrity across these structures creates and everywhere the same energy, symmetry. This was the Gairon, the interconnectedness I was searching for to explain the global effect of Dr. Hatsumis touch. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 8 of 10 In the 1970s a Dr Stephen Levin maintained that in fact the body is a tensegrity structure. The soft tissues of the body provide tension and the bones and incompressible fluids in the body compartments providing compression. In this model the bones act as spacers and providing the divergent force needed to hold the space open. He describes the body as A soft tissue entity, with local bony spacers, rather than a hard tissue entity with soft tissue motor units. Live lecture 16th April (2005) The ligaments and soft tissues are constructed with soft visceoelastic materials that behave non linearly Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology. Volume 2, 3, and 4, 375-388 World Scientific Publishing Co. This explained the bodys archaeological trabecullae footprint in the formation of our bones. If the spine is constructed in a pillar and beam Newtonian way, then the calculated forces needed for a grandfather to lift his three-year-old grandchild would crush the spine. The laws of tensegrity allowed me to understand the principles of Dr. Hatsumis natural movement strategies and its power without strength. The next problem was to be able to control the tensegrity of the body from an external source of contact. Dr. Levin in describing the body as a tensegrous unit also
explained that the tensegrity breaks at the interface or periphery of the body. Injury to tissue affects the play of movement of a joint, the play is the non linear part of a curve which is measurable and reproducible. My previous attempts at applying pressure did not produce the correction to the joints restriction. I began to work on the angle and depth of the contact hand, but it was body movement that fulfilled the criteria I was searching for. The natural movement principles of Dr Hatsumi are the opposite of Newtonian or biomechanical principles applied to the body. The fundamental difference is that in natural movement principles you move bones together with the minimal amount of expenditure of energy. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity
mmv Dennis Bartram Page 9 of 10 By approximating bones with minimal muscle contraction the
body remains relaxed and your contact with the tensegrity interface melds as one unit. The recipients body tissue accepts your applied pressure through the interface
connection. This contact allows you to alter the pulls of the restriction to normalise joint play even at a distance from the contact point. With this protocol it is now possible to act on the bodys tissues to normalise musculo-skeletal injured sites with a reproducible and predictable pressure therapy approach. This approach is endorsed by Dr. Stephen Levin and can now form the underpinning of our approach in Amatsu and become the base for further research. The human upright bipedal walk has in it the potential for a body- mind- spirit principle known as SHIN GI TAI ICHI. This translates as SHIN our spirit or affective domain, GI as the person in the kinaesthetic or psychomotor domain and the TAI the mind in the cognitive realm.
As we walk move and work in this behaviour, any performed task is in the NOW ICHI as one moment. This form of awareness and
movement is our heritage of natures evolvement of the psyche-soma of the upright bipedal human. I utilise and explain the virtues of this kind of movement to the therapists I train. Firstly, it encompasses a high level of ergonomic safety for the practitioner and secondly becomes the generator of the tactile power and feeling for the psychomotor skill of the therapy. As my research develops, I hope to develop a programme of movement-orientated exercises to help dyslexic and dyspraxia conditions. Dennis Bartram The Journey Towards Tensegrity

clinic and began my career in physical medicine.

As creatures became more land capable, uprightness was a sought after quality. This caused the trabecullae formation in the cellular matrix to react. Dating -Flirting Is Not Very Easy
By Bhatnagar Sumit Dating is a combination of a lot of things. It is not about being good, talking decently and showing how mature you are. Girls do not date guys who just act like a mature man. You need to have some thing that can make your girl feel that you are a guy of her age. Dating someone is an art and flirting is a part of it.
Well, you should not just start flirting. There are some rules that you ought to follow if you want to do it in a perfect way.
It should not look or sound awkward to her. The first thing is, never start flirting when you have just initiated the conversation. This might mess up everything. When your girl meets you for the first time, she will be under your first impression. If you start flirting on the very first day, she might feel pissed off. Start with some decent conversation. When she starts to feel comfortable with you, you can start; but still, it is not the time to take off. You need to start slowly. Gifting her and praising her will work. Let her feel that you are flirting just for fun, not because you are the kind of guy who likes to do it. This strategy is the best. This is how you become a good guy and become a bit smart too. You have adopted a diplomatic way.
You can not be categorized simply as a good or a bad one. You are hard to be figured out and that is how you create magic. Always remember, the day a girl realizes that she has understood you completely, your sweet time is over.
You always have to be mysterious enough so that she can be forced to think about you and only you and that is what a guy needs! Is it not? A Review of Techniques in Managing Your Depression
By Stanley Popovich Some people have a difficult time in managing their depression. Sometimes, their depression and fears can get best of them. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their depression. I was told by a counselor that one of the ways to manage depression is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, your afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available and just because you dont get this job promotion doesnt mean that you will never get one. In addition, people change jobs all the time, and you always have that option of going elsewhere if you are unhappy at your present location. Some people get depressed and have a difficult time getting out of bed in the mornings. When this happens, a person should take a deep breathe and try to find something to do to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. Doing something will get your mind off of the problem and give you confidence to do other things. Sometimes, we can get depressed over a task that we will have to perform in the near future. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task in your mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship volleyball game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that your playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation. Another technique that is very helpful is to have a small notebook of positive statements that make us feel good. Whenever you come across an affirmation that makes you feel good, write it down in a small notebook that you can carry around with you in your pocket. Whenever you feel depressed, open up your small notebook and read those statements. As a Layman and author of an anxiety book, I have done many interviews with various counselors in how to manage fear, anxiety and depression. The techniques that I have just covered are some basic ways to manage your depression, however your best bet is to get some help from a professional. Stan Popovich is the author of "A Layman's Guide to Managing Fear an easy to read book that presents a overview of techniques that are effective in managing persistent fears and anxieties. Crochet Thread and Geometry - A Craft Project
By Margarette Tustle Aside from its traditional use, crochet thread can be used for a number of other activities. One of the most creative and fun ideas for your kids to use crochet thread is in this geometry project which is both fun and a learning exercise. All you need is old cardboard, paper, crochet thread, a large eye needle, ruler, child-safe glue, and any fun, miscellaneous decorative supplies (glitter, stickers, etc.). Remember, this is a child friendly project, so encourage their creative side in order to make the project successful and entertaining. To begin the project, let your child choose a piece of paper. Take the old cardboard and have your child glue the paper to the cardboard with the child safe glue. This fortifies your geometric shape. Let the glue dry. While the glue is drying, go through your childs geometry book or workbook and let them choose a simple geometric shape to recreate. Draw the geometric shape on the paper. Before drawing the shape for the crochet project, make sure you wait until the glue is 100% dry. You should use the ruler to make sure the lines of the shape are clean. Have your child write the name of the shape they drew inside of it on the cardboard. Take the crochet needle and poke small holes on the lines of the shape they drew. Make sure the holes are not too close together. You will be sewing the crochet thread through the holes and you do not want the holes to rip. Once the holes are punched, help your child put the thread through the crochet needles large eye. Tie a knot at the end of the crochet thread. Show your child how to string the crochet thread through the holes in the cardboard dot by dot around the edge outlining your geometric shape. Once the shape has been outlined, your child can add glitter, sequins, or decorate with markers. In the end, you and your child will have created an array of geometry flashcards to help ensure he/she learns the shapes, sides, and names. Not only will the activity teach your child a new skill, it will give you one on one quality time together. Keep them entertained with different colors of thread, lots of glitter, and any other fun art supplies your child finds interesting. Margarette Tustle writes ideas for home and family. A Wedding Menu
By Andrew Horan Some of your wedding guests may be traveling great distances to get to your wedding. Some may even be flying to get to your wedding. Should you serve them the same type of meal that they got on the plane or should you serve them something better? I have included a menu below which is presented as an alternative to the usual wedding menu of baked chicken or broiled fish, vegetable, and roll. This menu was served at a great price. Our caterer is exceptional. He has experience in some of the best restaurants in Washington, DC. Because of this, he likes to prepare more complicated meals than the usual wedding menu. He worked with my future wife to prepare this menu. I am hoping that you will find some great ideas from it. For example, we are having cupcakes presented on a tiered fashion that looks like a wedding cake instead of the wedding cake. Why? Our wedding is outdoors. We have many children in attendance. Finally, we wanted to end the meal in a less formal manner. Enjoy the menu. Hot and Cold Hors d Oeuvres Croque Monsieur Black forest Ham and Gruyere Cheese Baked finger Sandwiches Smoked Salmon in Pastry cup with Cream cheese and capers Cilantro Shrimp on Skewers Crab meat spoons-drizzled with marry rose and mango, pear, peach, honey and sake salsa served in Chinese spoons Creamed Roquefort and toasted walnuts on crostini Petite Quiche Prosciutto and Florentine BUFFET DISPLAY SALADS Harvest Salad Poached Pears atop red baby mixed green, Belgium endive drizzled with honey mustard vinaigrette and sprinkled with walnuts and dried cranberries Salad Louisette Wedges of Iceberg Lettuce and Radicchio topped with Gorgonzola Cheese Crumbles, crispy Bacon and Julienne of Red Peppers in French dressing Dalmatino Caesar Salad Topped with freshly grated Parmesan and Garlic Croutons with home made dressing COOKING CORNER Display of Scottish smoked Salmon Served with the traditional Condiments Grilled Chicken Marinated with Garlic, Olive Oil and fresh Thyme served with a Madeira Mushroom Sauce Marinated Grilled Flank Steak Creamy horseradish sauce and Dijon Mustard Roasted Leg of Lamb With Rosemary Au Jus Pasta Station Penne Pasta With your choice of toppings Meatless marinara, Bolognese or Basil Pesto made to order VEGETABLES AND SIDES Saffron flavored Rice Pilaf Marinated Medley of Grilled Vegetables Crisp Asparagus, Fresh baby Carrots, Yellow and green Squash, Italian Eggplant, Grilled baby Artichokes, Portabella Mushrooms and Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes topped with a Roasted Pepper Confetti String Beans Almandine French Green beans sauted with Shaved Almonds Assorted Breads, Rolls and Butter CAKE: Cup Cakes (chocolate cup cakes made with dark chocolate white icing and slightly yellowish tinting each decorated separately) Assortment of Home made Brownies, Lemon Squares and Chocolate chip cookies Will be presented on separate table in a shape of wedding cake with floral decoration. Popular Cholesterol Medication Receives Extended Patent for "New Uses"
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Cathlene_Martinez] Cathlene Martinez Pfizers blockbuster drug Lipitor was approved for the additional uses of reducing patients risk of non-fatal heart attacks and strokes as well as hospitalization for heart failure. This comes as no surprise being that Lipitor lowers cholesterol, which goes hand in hand with heart health. For those of you who arent aware of the big drug company nuances, this is a common tactic in the pharmaceutical business. Instead of getting a drug approved for all its uses when drug makers seek first approval from the FDA, they get it approved for one limited use in order to use the additional uses later to extend the drugs patent life. Just before the drug patent expires, they seek approval for the additional uses, extending their patent and negating any possible competition from generic manufacturers. In this case, Pfizers patent was set to expire on May 30 2006, but after it received approval for the additional uses, extended its monopoly on the market 1,213 days. Extending the patent for roughly 2 years may not seem like that long, but when the drug is pulling in billions of dollars each year, it makes a big difference to Pfizer. So whats the big deal, drug companies need to make money too, right? Sure, but using these manipulative practices isnt just hurting the consumers pocketbook, its depriving the of medicine that they could have been receiving the entire time to the medication has been on the market. If big pharma would focus on helping people instead of manipulating the system, they earn the trust of the consumer and make even more money than they do now. Why does the FDA allow this type of manipulation? Because big pharma is who pays the bills. The FDA cannot bite the hand that feeds them. To give unbiased regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry must be separated. As long as the FDA is financially dependant on the pharmaceutical industry we will see this kind of corruption and lack of regulation. Your Relationships Begin With You
By Chad J. Bring As a single male in my mid-twenties, I find myself consciously and unconsciously thinking about and searching for that special someone. My goal has always been to be friends with my future wife for at least a year, date for a year, engaged for a year, which includes being married by the time Im thirty. This goal may seem far-fetched and I admit it is, so Im open to altering it. I know what I want in a future spouse (I think) and I definitely know what I dont want. But the older I get, the more I realize that the challenge to find someone who fits what I want and what I dont want seems like mission: impossible. My impatience steps in which seems to prolong my wait to meet this future wife of mine. Occasionally, I reflect on the thought that she is out there somewhere so I wonder what she is doing at that very moment and if she is thinking of me. As much as I am actively trying to find someone, Im reminded by my friends how they found their special someone when they were least expecting to. I have to remind myself and know that God will introduce me to her and reveal who she is when we are both ready. So does that mean Im not ready? I think I am, but at times I have my doubts. Maybe she isnt ready, which could mean that she is doing something to better herself for our relationship. Ill always go back to the question of if Im ready or not. How will I know? I believe the answer lies in how I respond to the following questions: I ask myself if Im financially ready. Who is? I graduated college a couple of years ago and have already went through two career changes and I have been laid off. Needless to say, my checkbook is nowhere near where I want it to be, I wont even mention credit cards. So I need to think more about saving for my future, buying a house, and paying off some bills. After all, I dont want to drag her into my debt and spending habits. I know that I need to better myself in regards to finances. I ask myself, am I physically fit and attractive? The honest answer is that Im not in as good of shape as Id like to be and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know I need to join a gym, look online for articles about cooking healthier for bachelors, and watch how many times I go out to eat. What is a better motivator to working out besides looking good for yourself and gaining that confidence, than wanting to look good for your significant other? After all, I hope my wife is attracted to me as I am to her. I ask myself, am I smart? With a college degree I think so, until I watch shows like Jeopardy or play board games with friends and I realize that I still have a lot to learn. I am thinking of going back to school. After all, I want my wife to think Im intelligent. I ask myself if Im in the spiritual place with God that I want to be. Do I attend church every week? Do I read the Bible each day? Am I asking more from God than I am thanking Him during prayer? Am I a good example for others and am I teaching them about God? After all, I hope my future wife and I can pray together and maybe take a leadership role in a youth group. I ask myself, am I happy as an individual? A relationship can bring happiness and fill the void of being alone, but should I put that burden on my future wife? If you are comfortable being yourself, being happy alone and dont need someone, that is a step in the right direction. I believe that needing someone to fill a void and wanting someone to fill a void are two entirely different things. This is why your relationships begin with you. After all, if you dont love yourself, then how do you expect someone else to? "Happiness depends upon ourselves"
~ Aristotle When you fulfill the above aspects of your life to an acceptable extent - then watch out, your future spouse may just be at the local bookstore, in the gym, at church, at work, at school, or at the bank. I dont expect to be able to accomplish each of these things in the next four years, but I will always strive to do so. After all, I hope she will always strive to do the same. And most of all, I hope we will continue to strive to do these things together! Chad J. Make your Teenager's Prom a Night to Remember
By Kamau Austin Prom season is quickly approaching, and it is a time that you and your teen have dreamed about for a very long time. As a parent, you can make your teenager's prom a very special night to remember. In the spring your teen will be thinking of formal dances, graduations, graduation parties, and the prom. While it is a special time for your teenager, it is also a time filled with high expectations and significant peer pressure. It is a time that will test the moral fiber of your teen and give them the opportunity to make their own decisions, hopefully making wise choices along the way. Proms are no longer held in high school gyms; today's proms have gone upscale. Many schools hold their proms at luxury hotels that have full banquet facilities and professional entertainment. Students arrive in limousines, dance the night away in rented tuxes and skin-tight dresses then leave for a weekend of unsupervised activities with friends -- often their first extended trip without parents. With the rising purchasing power of the youth culture, the prom is now an industry unto itself with its own magazines, films, clothing, accessories, and services. While many adults trivialize the prom experience, most kids take the prom seriously. The prom is a space where kids work through their understanding of authority, social class, gender norms, and multicultural issues. Proms are often the sight of public and personal struggle. They are more than just pictures and puffed sleeves -- they are a mythic part of todays youth culture and, for better or worse, will always be a night to remember. Your teen will be faced with a variety of choices ranging from how to spend within the budget youve set to whether or not they will be attending un-chaperoned parties. Your teen will make some of these decisions with you, but your teen will be confronted with many choices on prom night that he or she will have to make alone. You should discuss the situations with your teen before prom night and suggest the best ways to handle them. The following are situations both you and your teen should consider together before prom night. 1. Will your teen be allowed to attend un-chaperoned parties? Your teen will probably view this as a matter of trust. Be prepared to defend your view! 2. Will they be allowed to drive to the prom alone as a couple or should they go in a group? Should they drive at all or take a limousine? 3. How much money should be spent on the night? And who will pay for what? 4. What will be the curfew for prom night? Are overnight stays allowed, and if so, will they be co-ed? 5. Will drinking be allowed? Discuss your stance on alcohol consumption with your teen. Be prepared to share your views with your teenager before prom night. While your teen will face some issues alone, he or she will be better equipped to handle a variety of situations if you've discussed those situations together before the event. 1. Peer pressure to drink or take drugs on prom night. You teen should to decide ahead of time how they will handle the situation if they are approached to partake in these activities. It might be good to discuss this with your teen and maybe even role-play the possible situation. If you decide on your convictions a head of time, it's much easier to say no when confronted with temptation. 2. How much importance should be placed on prom night? If their expectations for the evening are too high, they might find the night a big disappointment. Encourage them to go into the event with limited expectations so that the evening will be enjoyable, even if it is not extraordinary. 3. Will they have sex? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Yes, on this night emotions run high, and it is best if they know how they feel about this issue before prom night arrives. If you haven't done so already, make sure you talk to your teen about their convictions about having sex before marriage. Explain to them that having sex before marriage puts them at risk for an unwanted pregnancy and STDs. Prom night can be one of the most memorable events in your teenager's high school years. You can help keep those memories positive by helping your teen make concrete plans on how to handle a variety of situations that might come up. In the end, they will make their own choices that night, but if you've spent time discussing these issues with them beforehand, there is a much better chance that they will make wise choices on their own. Understanding and Engaging Unbearable Pain
By Samuel Kirschner Emotional and mental pain its especially challenging because of the illusive nature and the stigmas attached to it in our culture. Because mental/emotional pain is invisible, we can easily doubt its validity and react to it by denying it, feeling ashamed of it and judging ourselves. Internalized pain can isolate us and alienate us from ourselves and from others. It can take on a life of its own and become an identity that distorts who we really are. Few people are able to tolerate mental and emotional pain in others or to be compassionate and accepting of it in themselves. And this is as true of those in the medical profession and our friends and family as everyone else. In our culture we are taught to "snap out it" and "get on with life." We resent it when we feel helpless and powerless and have no answer to our own pain or to the suffering of others. In seeking relief from pain, we often want to get away from it, get rid of it or kill it, but there are times when the only possible relief can come from transforming our relationship to it - non-judgmentally opening up to its moment-by-moment-sensations and seeing it for what it is; expanding our breath and directing it to the part of the body or psyche that feels the pain; and noticing the negative stories that the mind is telling us and letting them go. Available CD/Audio file - Bearing Unbearable Pain at http://www.livinginthepresent.com/cds.html Samuel has spent 20 years as a body/mind therapist and a meditation teacher, speaker and author. In the 1980s, he facilitated The New York Healing Circle, which helped thousands of people with HIV live with a sense of peace and self-acceptance. Trained in body-centered psychotherapy, and in the Zen tradition and the Vipassana style of meditation, as well as in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction - by Jon Kabat Zinn), Samuel is in private practice in Manhattan. He has been teaching Living in the Present / Dynamic Mindfulness Meditation through individual & couple sessions, classes, workshops, organizational wellness training and retreats. http://www.livinginthepresent.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Samuel_Kirschner http://EzineArticles.com/?Understanding-and-Engaging-Unbearable-Pain&id=240140 buy cheap phentermine online net

Coconut Oil - A Natural Mouth Ulcer Cure
By Lee Dobbins A mouth ulcer is an open wound in the mouth where tender nerve endings are exposed and can often cause extreme pain to the person who is affected with them especially when they can become irritated. Often a person suffering from mouth ulcers will find it difficult to eat, drink and sometimes even talk and unfortunately these exposed ulcers are vulnerable to infection by bacteria that is find in our mouth and unfortunately create even more pain. Many mouth ulcers often seem to start off as a small bubble or blister which then becomes open and ulcerated and this is when the pain really starts. However, they can be caused accidentally by someone biting themselves or there lips are so dry that they crack and then the ulcers begin to form on their lips. Normally mouth ulcers are caused by either virus, bacteria or fungus and may result in the bodys own immune system attacking the mucosal lining of the mouth. In some cases people who suffer from either Ulcerative Colitis or Crohns Disease (intestinal conditions) may find themselves suffering from mouth ulcers also. A good way of treating mouth ulcers is with coconut oil which kills the bacteria that causes them. It is also good for treating throat infections, gum disease and cavities. Certainly the Pacific Islanders who have a coconut based diet have excellent dental health and rarely suffer from mouth ulcers even when they have never brushed their teeth or used floss or anti-bacterial mouthwash. Certainly coconut oil is ideal for helping to relieve the pain felt from mouth ulcers instantly all you need is get a tablespoon of coconut oil and hold it for a minute on the mouth ulcer. Soon you will feel the pain going away and this relief seems to last for quite a while because of the MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids) find in coconut oil which are rapidly absorbed in to the body and thus the healing process is accelerated. The way coconut oil works is that it has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and which can help to combat viruses, bacteria and fungus that can be found in a persons mouth and will cause ulcers. The MCFAs which are in coconut oil also help to enhance the bodys own immune system and thus help it to fight viruses, fungus and bacterial problems. Also coconut oil is great for helping a persons intestinal system by killing any fungi found in the intestinal tract. Above are a number of reasons as to why coconut oil can not only help to treat and heal mouth ulcers but also to help prevent them from forming. Also coconut oil is not messy to apply to the ulcer and is completely edible and natural. Lee Dobbins writes for http://ulcers.health-g8way.com where you can learn about treating ulcers and find more mouth ulcer cures. Relationship Advice: The No-Fault Spouse
By Jeff Herring It happened again today in my office. A spouse complaining about how their partner will accept no responsibility for any of the struggles in the relationship. She brings an issue to him, and he turns it back on her, and
finds a way in which it is her fault. It could be her bringing it to him, or him bringing it to her. The pattern is one person will never take responsibility for their own contribution to the struggles. Are you a "teflon spouse?" I call these folks "teflon spouses." As in, nothing sticks to them. Remember how President Reagan was sometimes referred to as the "Teflon President?" This was because with all the stuff going on around him, nothing seemed to stick. Same thing here, but in a truly negative way. Some folks are particularly gifted at making everything the fault of someone esle. When you bring a concern or complaint to these folks, they are skilled at turning it around and making it your problem. The problem is that it does not match reality. In 25 years of doing couples therapy and coaching, I have never seen a situation where both people did not have their fingerprints on the mess. By definiion, both partners have their own contribution to the struggle. Now in no way am I saying that you have to take the blame for everything to be a good spouse. I am saying that you do have to take responsibility for your part in the relationship in order to be a good spouse. Business Card Marketing 101
By Chris Ryerson With the invention of the internet, email, blogs and chat rooms many companies wrongly assume they no longer need a business card. However, if you have ever been stuck in the awkward position of meeting a client for the first time and having to scribble your business name on a restaurant napkin or worse yet a torn piece of paper you will know the importance of business cards. You see websites, company blogs and all the technology in the world is great but it does not help with face to face networking. This is the type of networking you should be doing constantly if you are a small business owner. In fact this is one of the only types of marketing you should really be spending your time with direct face to face contact is the way to build relationships and therefore build your business. So if you are just starting out or have though you dont need a business card you might want to think again. Below are some tips to help you with your business card marketing and social networking that will bring clients into your business ready to buy. Why you ask because you have made a personal contact. Social networking Success! Got Business Cards? Okay so we stole that one from the Got Milk campaign but it is such a great line. The point is you should always have your business cards with you. You should have a batch of 50 or so in your vehicle, in your pocket, in your day planner, in your briefcase of backpack. In fact you should keep them in your gym bag and your family car also. Keep business cards everywhere you go. You should treat them just like your wallet, keys and cell phone can you imagine leaving home without these? Well, your business cards are the same way in fact you should feel almost naked with out your business cards. Why you might ask? Well, you honestly never know when you are going to meet a potential client. You might meet them in the market as you are buying milk late at night for your family or standing in line at the movies. Talk! Talk! Talk! In real estate the old saying was the one thing that affect price is location, location, location well if you are a small business owner the one thing that will directly affect the success of your business is talk, talk, talk. The more you talk to people the more contact you will make. Now dont take this the wrong way and try to push your business on every poor should standing in line at the grocery store. You do not wan to try the hard sell on everyone. You want to think of it as the soft sell. Just talk to people and be (not pretend to be) genuinely interested in them. Even if they are complete strangers go ahead and talk to them. It can just be a simple comment about the weather or the latest sports game that you watched. The talk does not have to be big and important but if you dont start the conversation you have lost the client forever from the get go. Make an Impression You want to make an impression with people and the strangest part about this is that the more interest you show in them the bigger impression you will leave. You see we are all in love with ourselves if we admit it or not that is the truth. So the more you are interested in a person and the more you listen, the bigger impression you will make. Often you can say a lot less and leave a much bigger impression then if you said too much. At the end of the conversation you can easily follow up with a , Hey by the way it was nice talking to you. Here is my business card hope to see you around again sometime soon. Or you can think up some other line that works better for you and in your own situation. It really depends on the situation you are in and who you are talking to. The most important thing is to remember you are doing the soft sell and not trying to push your product or company on the person just be interested. So make sure you always carry your business cards with you at all time and talk to people. That is it no real big secret, it just takes action! For more great information on getting

The Oohs and Ahhs Factor
By Bonnie Ray Second only to watching the bride come down the aisle is the delightful treat of watching the flower girl or girls precede her. These adorable additions to the wedding party, along with the ring bearer decked out in his tiny tux, are something that we all look forward to seeing at each wedding that we attend. Most little girls love to dress up and the thought of dressing like a princess will thrill your flower girl. She will most likely relish the idea that shes an important part of your big day! While you want to emphasize the importance of her role, make sure you dont do it in a way that will make her nervous and unable to perform her duties when the day arrives. This should be a fun day for her, but she still needs to know that her role is vital. Spending some additional time with her at the rehearsal should be good enough to ensure a successful walk down the aisle. Flower girls can proceed down the aisle before the maid-of-honor or immediately in front of the bride herself. Occasionally a flower girl will be accompanied by the ring bearer and they will make an adorable couple as them march to the front where the groom awaits his bride. The childrens parents should be seated near the front, just in case one of the little ones decides he or she doesnt want to stand up there for very long. One way to ease the worry of your flower girl(s) is to have her attend your shower and your bridesmaids luncheon. Once she gets to know the other attendants, shell be more apt to relax and feel confident when its her turn to head down the aisle. Of course, this isnt an issue if she already knows the bridesmaids because everyone is related. What exactly do you want your flower girl(s) to be doing when shes walking down the aisle? Traditionally, she should scatter rose petals for the bride to walk upon. This is symbolic as a token of beauty. It is also thought to symbolize the bride walking down the path of a new life. Some facilities will not allow the scattering of rose petals. If this is the case, there are other options available. One is to have your flower girl(s) drop silk rose petals in the aisle. They can be so realistic looking, that no one will realize that theyre silk. The flower girl basket can be filled with silk rose petals, or it can simply be a basket of flowers that she carries. Another trend that is gaining in popularity is the pomander, a cylinder covered in flowers that is carried almost like a handbag. In the case where the facility wont allow any petals, fresh or otherwise, to be dropped in the aisle, having this young attendant carry a pomander or a flower girl basket with an arrangement in it will still draw the oohs and ahhs! Make sure you check with the facility where the ceremony will take place as to whether or not the scattering of petals is allowed. Then you can go ahead and order your flower girl basket and get on with your other plans. Bonnie Goodwin Ray has more than sixteen years experience in the wedding industry.
